Pocket Holic is a Korean-Japanese restaurant at 304 10 Street NW in Kensington, Calgary, open every day from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Our signature is pocket sushi — seasoned fried tofu pouches filled with sushi rice and finished with a topping — served alongside creamy udon, poke bowls and sushi rolls for dine-in, takeout and delivery.
The Pocket Holic team opened the restaurant in 2021, inspired by inari sushi: a pouch of seasoned fried tofu filled with sushi rice. That tofu pocket, packed with rice and a topping on top, is the reason for the name Pocket Holic. Topping inari sushi is still the main dish, and it is what Pocket Holic calls “the first & best topping inari sushi in YYC”.
Pocket sushi is topping inari sushi. Choose from more than 20 toppings, including aburi salmon, spicy tuna, beef bulgogi, spicy beef bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, tempura shrimp, unagi, scallops, creamy avocado, kimchi and sweet corn egg. Order them by the piece, or as 4- and 8-piece combos with miso soup.
The menu goes well beyond pockets: creamy udon such as Rose Tteokbokki and Bangkok Shrimp, soup udon, poke bowls like the Tokyo Bowl, and sushi rolls from the classic California roll to the Fire Red Dragon. First time ordering from here, and wow! Just wow. They sent me a miso soup at no cost, and the note they left was so thoughtful. The Bangkok Shrimp Udon is delectable. The perfect level of heat. I LOVE spicy foods and this is *chefs kiss*. Everything is delicious and I will be ordering from here again. Thank you!!
Ordered for the first time yesterday and got another one today!! The pocket sushi's are so sooo delicious. my favourite is the aburi salmon!! Everything is very good. Will order again!!
This is my absolute favourite sushi place!! Beef Bulgogi and Tempura Shrimp pockets are the best.
Ordered for the first time and for sure will order again. Exceptional quality and flavourful taste. Tasted much better than I expected. Bangkok Shrimp Udon is a bit spicy, I'd say medium but very delicious. Both dishes satisfied me 10/10. Well done, thank you
Chewy, soft udon with creamy sauce! It might be spicy for some people but I found it mild. The fish cakes soaked up the sauce flavour, yummm
