Our story

What Is Pocket Sushi? Topping inari, since 2021

The Pocket Holic team opened in Kensington in 2021, inspired by inari sushi: a pouch of seasoned fried tofu filled with sushi rice. We finish every pocket with a topping, and that tofu “pocket” is where the name Pocket Holic comes from. Today there are more than 20 toppings, plus creamy udon, poke bowls and sushi rolls. Daily Hive covered the opening as an “authentic Korean-Japanese” spot in Kensington.

Pocket sushi is topping inari sushi: a pouch of seasoned fried tofu filled with sushi rice and finished with a topping. We have more than 20 toppings, including aburi salmon, spicy tuna, beef bulgogi, tempura shrimp, unagi and creamy avocado, sold by the piece or in 4- and 8-piece combos with miso soup.
